The film "Midlife Crisis" is a result of three fascinations: Sudoku puzzles, the properties of medicinal plants, and the aesthetics of the Middle Ages. Sudoku is a metaphor for the game that the main character plays with herself in the garden. The garden, in turn, symbolizes the space of life, both physical and emotional. The adventures of the protagonist - alter ego of the author - are an attempt to show a woman in a midlife crisis, who feels the breath of new generations on her back, sees her physical and mental abilities shrinking, and knows that it will not get any better. Her crisis unfolds in two time spaces: medieval and contemporary. In the medieval space, she uses the symbolism of animals from bestiaries and the artistry of old engravings from herbal books and prayer books. Contemporary scenes take place in urban allotment gardens - special enclaves of silence in the hustle and bustle of big cities, used by older people who spend their retirement years growing vegetables in a few square meters.
